Three King's Day

Epiphany, also known as Three King's Day, is celebrated today following the 12 Days of Christmas. We purchased a King's Cake at one of the local bakeries to take part in this tradition. Inside this sweet bun cake (which is made of separate pieces of dough baked together so it can easily be torn apart when consuming) a tiny plastic king is baked. When eating the cake, whomever discovers the king is deemed king for the day and wins the right to boss everyone else around.
It is only fitting that the birthday man found the king. He was already doing a good job of being bossy, but once he won the crown, I lost all hope for the day. :) Just kidding, he's been a good king.
His only birthday wish was for a meatball sub for dinner. We'll probably be going out later to play some pool. We'll most likely be looking for a new place to play since the last place we played cost 21 CHF or about $17 USD an hour. We sure do miss those 50 cent tables back in Iowa City...
