Dave Arrives!

Yesterday morning Matt's college buddy Dave arrived from Chicago. We spent the bulk of the day trying to help Dave combat jetlag by walking him all over Zürich. We were lucky enough to get a rare winter day in the city where the sun actually shines! We tried to take advantage of this by going to the city overlook at Uetliberg. It was clear enough to see the mountains, which can be an uncommon view, even during summertime.
Today we got going at the crack of 8:30. We took a train to Luzern, the ferry on the Vierwaldstättersee, then stopped off at Vitznau up Mt. Rigi. Our goal for the day was to take Dave sledging. One of Matt's and my favorite winter activities. Though the path was quite bumpy, the scenary on the 4 km ride was gorgeous.
We stopped through Luzern on our way home for a quick loop around the city and dinner at our favorite, Rathaus Brauerei.
Tomorrow we'll probably tour more around Zürich before gearing up for the New Year's Eve festivities on the city. Then we're off Jan 1 for Münich, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. We've got some bobsledding in mind come Thursday....
